I discovered a box of vintage Dinky toys whilst clearing out my uncle’s house and fell in love with them right away and so my Dinky Toy series began.

These lovely playworn objects, that had been locked away for decades, would now have a new lease of life as contemporary bright and funky images full of nostalgia and retro chic.

Dinky Toys were among the most popular diecast vehicles ever made – predating other popular diecast marques, including Corgi, Matchbox, and Mattel’s Hot Wheels. 

The photographs show the face of the car, capturing its character and together create a strong graphical set.  The marks and scratches from the play-wear evoke nostalgic memories of childhood.

The coloured backgrounds give the objects a contemporary aesthetic, sets the mood and compliments the car’s personality.
